PointCare Technologies attends the 3rd annual CCAS Caribbean International HIV Workshop

POINTCARE TECHNOLOGIES attended the 3rd annual CCAS Caribbean International HIV Workshop in Barbados, where we exhibited our AuRICA™ NOW Immuno-hematology analyzer.

Many participants within the Caribbean are already working with the original AuRICA instrument and are enthusiastic about the next generation.

The local newspaper, the Daily Nation, photographed Director of Quality Assurance and Control at PointCare Technologies Inc, Maurice Doire, explaining to Dr Nicholas Adomakoh how the AuRICA™ NOW portable CD4/CD4% testing device works. Looking on is Vice-President of Business Development at PointCare, Dan O’Connor.

Dr Peter Hansen, Chief Science Officer at PointCare, gave an inspiring and thought provoking presentation on “CD4 Leaves Flow Cytometry and Joins Fully Automated Hematology for Both near Patient and Centralized Management of HIV”. Dr Hansen’s presentation discussed the elements of an effective diagnostic management program and the need for complete hematology. It is essential in the total therapy management of an HIV/AIDS patient that additional blood cell classes other than the CD4+ lymphocytes are monitored. A lively discussion followed.
